NOIR & BLANC
We restored and redesigned the interior of Noir & Blanc, the specialist in high-fidelity equipment in the heart of Brussels.
The historic interior proved a design challenge to integrate the product displays — from large format speakers to record players — listening room and music test area.

THE MATERIAL CHOICES WERE CLOSELY LINKED TO THE TYPE OF PRODUCT ON OFFER: AMERICAN WALNUT, LINEAR EMERALD GREEN ACOUSTIC PANELS, CURTAINS THAT HELP MODULATE THE SPACE, ETC. ALL IN AN EFFORT TO CREATE A UNIQUE AND SOPHISTICATED ENVIRONMENT.
At the center of the space, an area is carved out by black metal slats . These metal partitions, painted in a deep matte black, act to separate the sales areas of the counter. The music area, located on the ground floor, deliberately encloses a corner for displaying products, called the music library, such as records & turntables.
THE LISTENING ROOM IS A MODULAR SPACE. WHEN A CUSTOMER ENTERS THIS AREA, LIKE IN A THEATER, THE CURTAINS CLOSE IN FRONT AND BEHIND HIM, AND WITH PERFECT ACOUSTICS HE CAN LISTEN TO MUSIC AND CHOOSE HIS OWN HIGH FIDELITY DEVICE.
The result is a beautifully realized interior with a strong retro flavour but a contemporary layout and details.
