Labscape's design orientation focuses on a great attention to detail, a love for noble and natural materials, and the ability to operate on different scales.
Projects range from large urban planning developments to the design and development of furniture and objects. Labscape's stance is discreet, yet they have assembled a nice portfolio of projects in Europe, the Middle East and North America. The studio always operates in harmony with the premises surroundings whether historical or natural, and searches for a balance between past, present, and future.

Labscape Architecture & Design was founded in 2010 in Brussels (BE) by Tecla Tangorra and Robert Ivanov. Since then, they have also opened offices in New York (US) and Pisa (IT).
Tecla TangorraPrincipal Designer
Tecla Tangorra graduated “cum laude” from the Milan Polytechnic University of Architecture & Design in 2005 with the renowned architect & designer Andrea Branzi, with whom she worked on the development of the Design Park for Milan.
Tecla’s Master’s thesis received a special mention from the Compasso d’Oro award for young creatives. Tecla continued her education at the Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa in Portugal, focusing especially on the artistical aspect of design & architecture.
She started her career working with various practices in Milan, Brussels, and New York. During these formative years, she gained experience working on prestigious projects around the globe, giving her the opportunity to develop a unique skill-set designing both public and private projects, and honing her great love for craftsmanship and incorporating natural and unique materials. Tecla regards Labscape’s work with a global vision. She treats each project as unique, resulting in a powerful design identity.
Robert IvanovPrincipal Architect
Robert Ivanov graduated in 2002 in Architecture and Planning at the Institute of Architecture Victor Horta in Brussels. Robert continued his education at the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (UTL) in Portugal, focusing especially on design of Master-Planning.
He started his career in his native Brussels, and gained extensive experience creating large-scale public buildings, urban developments, mixed-use projects, and master planning concepts in Milan, Paris, Tangier, Shenzhen, etc. Robert worked at Asymptote Architecture in New York and Abu Dhabi, where he acquired a savoir faire in high-end residential design and state of the art hotels. Onwards he further expanded his skills in the fields of residential and luxury retail design at Peter Marino Architect in New York.
In addition to his professional practice Robert Ivanov has been invited to participate in academic juries and as a guest lecturer at, among others, the Architecture Association (AA) in London (UK), the Spitzer School of Architecture in New York (US), the Institut Supérieur d’Architecture Victor Horta in Brussels (BE), and the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris.
Claudio RussonielloSenior Interior Architect
Claudio Russoniello is an interior architect graduated from ESAPV (Mons, Belgium).
He commenced his professional career in Paris with the emblematic designer Mattia Bonetti. He participates at the Saint-Etienne International Design Biennale and competition for young designer artists of the French community and won several prizes. Subsequently Claudio completed several projects for design offices A.X.V., S.L.V. and at Jacques Van Haren where he developed a passion for materials and design details. He joined Labscape in 2015, as a Project manager for various European assignments.
Cecilia Bernasconi de LucaSenior Architect
Cecilia holds a Dip. Arch. degree from the Polytechnic of Milan (2003) and a degree from Universidad Tecnica de Lisbon (2000). She is Senior Architect & Designer for Labscape Italy with offices in Pisa, Tuscany.
Cecilia’s career in architecture and design extends back to 2005 and includes assignments in Italy, Brazil, and Thailand. She joined Labscape since the beginning in 2010.
Christophe RemyBranding Director & Interior Designer
Christophe Remy is a Belgian art director and interior designer.
Graduated in cinema at the INRACI in Brussels in 2003, he rapidly evolved as a self-taught graphic designer and illustrator. Working with major advertising agencies as a freelance gave him the opportunity to learn about branding.
While freelancing Christophe went back to University (ULB Brussels) in 2007 to get a Bachelor History of Art. He also attended short programs at the Sotheby’s Institute of Arts in London, specializing in Decorative Arts. Then followed 2 years working in-house for a Brussels based interior design studio focusing on period-style residential project as well as heritage restoration. He is now gathering his acquired skills to imagine branded environment or create visual concept at 360*. Christophe Remy now also actively curates spaces with beautiful objects and fine material. Christophe is part of the Labscape team since 2014.
Maurizio River SerenaSenior Strategic Design Advisor
Maurizio brings over 20 years of brand strategy, innovation and academic research to Labscape.
Born in Italy, educated in the UK, he has worked on both the agency and the client side. He started his career as program director for Addison Design in London then Singapore and, after completing a Master’s in Strategic Design at Politecnico di Milano, he embarked on a brand strategy journey at Pirelli Real Estate in Milan, developing brand systems for several property groups. He has worked as a senior brand strategist for Klingmann Architects & Brand Consultants in New York, integrating branding, architecture, and service experience design.
Maurizio co-founded the Paris-based trends’ research and future scenario agency The Sprout Studio whose methodology to anticipate future scenarios is detailed in the book ‘The Sprout: The Sprout: A holistic methodology to manage innovation and create value in the 21st century’
He has designed and taught courses on branding, innovation, and experience design for business and design schools in France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, and Brazil.
Maurizio has collaborated with Labscape since 2010.
Adèle GaoInterior Architect
Adèle Gao joined Labscape in 2022. She graduated in 2019 as an interior architect from ESA Saint-Luc (Brussels, Belgium). During her last academic year Adèle worked on the design of the Centre Pompidou Kanal in Brussels. Since then, she has collaborated on several projects and gained experience in high-end residential as well as public projects such as restaurants, hotels, and offices.
